Scotty went to college in Nelson, British Columbia before attending Royal Roads. He has traveled to over 20 countries and has spent three winters in Banff, Alberta and two winters in New Zealand, working mostly as a ski patrol. While in Banff, Scotty had a photo taken of him and Robin Williams, and has ridden in a gondola with Jean Claude Van Damme. Scotty is the younger brother of Kyle MacDonald, the One Red Paperclip guy.
