Of a total population of 549,549,000, about a quarter could be considered to be Afro-Latin American, this figure being the sum of the mulatto, black, and zambo populations of the region per each country's census data. Another fairly large minority of the population most likely has at least some black African ancestry, but this is hard to quantify objectively.
